At Barton College, students who have received a high school diploma, GED, and attended a college or university for a semester or more are considered a transfer student.
To be admitted to Barton College as a transfer student, you must have a minimum 2.0 transfer grade point average (GPA) in a minimum of 12 transferable credit hours. Admission of a student whose GPA is less than 2.0, or whose transferable credit hours amount to less than 12, will be at the discretion of the Director of Admissions.
You must also be eligible to return to your last institution. For students planning to enroll in professional programs such as nursing, education, or social work, you must first obtain admission to the college and then individual acceptance into the major program. At Barton, we’ve made applying for financial aid easy. All it takes is one form — the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA allows the federal government to determine how much your family can be expected to contribute to educational expenses. When you apply for financial aid, the amount you’re awarded is based on the difference between the cost of attending Barton and this expected contribution.
