Dartmouth College

Dartmouth College

Dartmouth is an institution that is small enough to provide all of our students with direct access to world-class faculty, staff, and resources, yet large enough to have the infrastructure and expertise that marks the world's greatest universities.  Nestled on the border of New Hampshire and Vermont, and bounded by a river and mountains, a profound sense of place informs Dartmouth’s profound sense of purpose with signature programs in environmental studies, Native American studies, foreign languages and international studies, public policy, computer science, and human-centered engineering. Dartmouth adheres to a unique, quarterly calendar known as the “D-Plan” that delivers its liberal arts curriculum via four 10-week terms that invites students to design an individualized course of study.

First-year

Students who have taken college coursework that is counting towards their high school graduation should apply as first-year applicants. This includes students pursuing an associate's degree while finishing high school. Students who have completed high school and enrolled in college, even for one term or less, must apply as transfer applicants. Students who have completed two years or less of college coursework at the time of application are eligible to apply as transfer applicants.

Transfer

Students interested in applying for transfer admission should visit the Dartmouth Admissions website.

Additional Information

Dartmouth leads in affordability with a universal need-blind admissions policy (we’re need-blind, no matter your citizenship). Dartmouth meets 100 percent of demonstrated need. No student loans are included in a Dartmouth aid package. All aid is need-based. Families with income and assets of $65,000 or less have no required parent contribution. Families with income and assets of $125,000 or less receive a scholarship that covers full tuition. The Class of 2026 received over $34 million in scholarships for the 2022-23 academic year with an average scholarship of $66,444, or 80 percent of the cost of attendance.
