First-year

Each year, Gettysburg College welcomes a diverse class of highly-motivated students who–surrounded by history and opportunity–strive to Do Great Work as they progress toward building a better world for themselves, their families, and their communities. And by applying to Gettysburg, you are taking the first steps toward becoming a lifelong Gettysburgian. 

To join our community, you must:

  • Log in to the Common App
  • Add Gettysburg to your "My Colleges" list
  • Choose your application plan
    • Early Decision I: November 15th
    • Early Decision II: January 15th
    • Early Action: December 1st
    • Regular Decision: January 15th
  • Submit the necessary materials like your transcript and letters of recommendation.
  • Optional, but encouraged items: visit campus for a tour and information session, sign up for an interview, and connect with your Admissions Counselor.

Transfer

At Gettysburg College, we value the diversity of experiences and breadth of knowledge that transfer students bring to our community.

Gettysburg welcomes students who have previously attended another college or university to apply as a transfer applicant. Highly motivated and academically strong, our transfer students take advantage of the many high-impact learning opportunities that the College provides–including student-driven research, internships and externships, and study abroad programs.   • For the spring semester: November 1st
  • For the fall semester: April 15th

The Gettysburg College Admissions Office offers in-person tours of campus as well as information sessions led by a member of our Admissions team. Opportunities for on-campus interviews for high school students and transfer students are also available. If you aren’t able to travel to campus, we have a variety of virtual visit opportunities including online interviews, information sessions, and much more.
