First-year

The admission process is conducted as a comprehensive review, where each applicant is treated personally and individually, and every part of the application is taken into account. First-year applicants will have earned a high school diploma prior to matriculation and will not have completed a full year enrolled as a full-time student at any other higher education institution.

Transfer

A student is eligible for transfer admission to Haverford if at least one year has been completed as a full-time student at a college or university by the time of enrollment at Haverford. (Students who have completed one year of full-time university study must apply as transfer students; they may not apply as first year students.) Transfer students must enroll as full-time students and must spend a minimum of two years at Haverford.

Additional Information

We are committed to making a Haverford education accessible and affordable. With a $36 million annual aid budget, we meet the full demonstrated financial need of all admitted students – including international students, undocumented students, transfers, and students admitted from the waiting list. Roughly 47% of the student body receives some form of financial aid from Haverford.

Visit us

There's no better way to get a feel for college than by visiting. Information sessions and campus tours are available weekdays as well as some Saturdays during the academic year. You'll have a smaller tour group if you can avoid our busiest months, April, August and October. If you can’t make it to campus, you can join us for a virtual event like a Q&A with a counselor or a student-led virtual tour.

Haverford College is a leading liberal arts undergraduate college located outside Philadelphia that is known for its academic rigor, Honor Code, and beautiful arboretum campus.
