Application information

Find out about requirements, fees, and deadlines

First-year

Luther begins admitting students in September and will continue to review applications on a rolling basis until the class is full. Students may apply using the Common App. or the Luther College application. Luther also requires two supplemental materials: a high school transcript and a personal statement. Standardized test scores are not required, but students may choose to submit ACT or SAT scores.

Transfer

Transfer students may apply to enroll in the fall, January, or spring terms. Luther accepts the Common App. as well as the Luther College application, both of which are free and online. There is no application deadline for transfer students. Luther requires four materials in addition to the application: an educator’s reference, a final official high school transcript, a final official college transcript (from the institution(s) where the student is transferring), and a transfer application supplement (found on Luther’s website). Standardized test scores are not required, but students may choose to submit ACT or SAT scores.

Additional Information

Luther believes that the gifts and talents each student brings to our campus are what makes this such a special place. Because we value what our students contribute to the campus community, we offer a variety of scholarships and awards based on demonstrated academic excellence, musical and artistic talent, and other criteria. All academic scholarships and awards are based on a combination of a student's cumulative grade point average and class rank (if applicable). If the student chooses to submit a college entrance exam score (ACT or SAT), it will be considered as well. There is no separate application; rather, the academic scholarships are awarded automatically to eligible students upon admission.
