Mercer University

Mercer University

Welcome to a place where we challenge norms, change perceptions, and redefine what’s possible. A place where we’ll help mold you into the most well-rounded, open-minded, globally conscious, civically connected, fierce, loyal, loving version of you that you can be.

Mercer University is one of America's oldest and most distinctive institutions of higher learning, offering rigorous programs that span the undergraduate liberal arts to doctoral level degrees. While offering a breadth of programs found at much larger universities, Mercer maintains an intimate, student-focused culture more characteristic of smaller liberal arts colleges.

First-year

Mercer University offers two ways to apply for admission for first-year students: The Common Application or the Mercer Application. We do not have a preference, and we encourage you to use the option that is most convenient for you. We evaluate every application using the same process, starting with your transcripts. If you choose to submit your test scores, we review them at this step as well. These are important benchmarks to ensure that you will be academically successful at Mercer. But these numbers don’t tell us who you are. That’s why we evaluate the entire application. We want to know what you’re passionate about, what your goals are, and how you plan to change the world.

For application requirements and important dates and deadlines, visit our First-Year Admissions webpage.

Transfer

Applicants to Mercer’s residential undergraduate program on the Macon campus with more than nine (9) semester hours after high school graduation are considered transfer students.

Transfer students must submit an application for admission and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 for all college coursework to have a competitive application.

  • Apply using either the Mercer Application at apply.mercer.edu and submit all supporting documents:
    • College transcript(s)
    • Official high school transcript(s) with graduation date
    • ACT/SAT scores | Transfer students with fewer than 30 credit hours are eligible to apply to Mercer as Test Optional applicants without submitting test scores.
For additional information about application requirements and important dates and deadlines, visit our Transfer Admissions webpage.
