First-year

In order for a first-year application to be considered “complete,” you must complete the following items:
- Common Application (no fee to apply)
- High school transcripts
- Common Application Secondary School Report (SSR)
- One letter of recommendation from a teacher or school counselor

We encourage you to submit first quarter or trimester grades and any supplemental documents you would like us to review. This can include additional recommendations or resumes. 
 

Transfer

In order for a transfer application to be considered “complete”, the following items are required:
- Common Application or Merrimack Application (no fee to apply)
- Your college essay, topic of choice as outlined in the Common Application and Merrimack Application
- Official transcript(s) from each college/university attended (Transcripts are considered official if delivered directly from, or in an envelope sealed by, the college/university).
- International college transcripts must be evaluated through WES, SpanTran, ECE, or CED. A course-by-course evaluation must be sent directly from one of these evaluation agencies in order to be considered official.
- Official final high school, GED or high school equivalency transcripts are required if less than one year (fewer than 24 semester hours of credit) of college coursework has been completed (with final grades).
- A current letter of academic or professional recommendation.
- Transfer College Report,  PDF version (We also accept the Common Application Transfer College Report.)
- U.S. permanent residents are required to submit a photocopy (both sides) of alien registration cards.

Please note that we may also ask for a midterm grade report (if final grades aren’t available) and/or course descriptions/syllabi. 

Additional Information

Decisions
Early Decision and Early Action applicants will receive a decision from us approximately one month after the deadline. Rolling admission applicants will receive a decision from us on a rolling basis, approximately two weeks after their application was received. 

Applying for Financial Aid
To apply for need-based aid—grants, loans, and work programs—you must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), using the Merrimack College federal school code of 002120. The FAFSA is available online at fafsa.gov. The recommended deadline should correspond with your application deadline.
