Application information

Find out about requirements, fees, and deadlines

First-year

Freshman applicants have or will soon receive a high school diploma or high school equivalent. OHIO operates on a holistic, selective review and looks for evidence of academic preparation in a strong college-preparatory curriculum. A complete application includes the application form, application fee, official transcripts and honors supplements (if applicable). OHIO has adopted a test-optional pathway for admission to the Athens campus for freshman applicants. The test-optional pathway eliminates barriers for students and supports the University's mission to expand access to higher education while maintaining academic quality and student success outcomes. Prospective students who submit a complete application by the November 15 Early Action Deadline receive priority consideration for merit-based scholarships, honors experiences and direct entry to academic programs. Transfer

Transfer applicants have completed 9 or more semester hours (12 quarter hours) at another regionally accredited institution after graduating from high school. OHIO assesses applicants using a holistic, selective review. Transfer applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher. A complete application includes the application form, application fee and official transcripts submitted directly from all colleges and universities the applicant has attended. Applicants who have completed fewer than 20 semester hours or 30 quarter hours of college coursework must also submit a high school transcript. "I chose OHIO because of the immediate sense of belonging I felt even before I touched on campus. When I met my regional advisor and was introduced to OHIO, it was the first college that cared about me personally."
