First-year

Most students apply and are admitted to Pomona through the Regular Decision (RD) option. The RD deadline is Jan. 8, and applicants are notified of their decision by April 1. If Pomona is your absolute first-choice college, an Early Decision (ED) application may be your best option. Both ED I and ED II applicants are evaluated in the same way, but the ED I deadline is Nov. 15 and the ED II deadline is Jan. 8. If admitted to Pomona through Early Decision, you unconditionally agree to attend Pomona College and agree to withdraw all other applications. Pomona is test-optional for all applicants through Fall 2024. There is a one-time, non-refundable application fee of $70. However, if you plan to apply for financial aid, and the application fee presents a hardship for you or your family, please complete the Pomona Access Pass form.

Transfer

Applicants who will have completed at least one year's full-time college work by the time they expect to enroll at Pomona must apply as a transfer. Students who have completed college coursework as part of an early college program, or who have completed less than a year of college, should apply as first-year applicants. We admit transfer students only for fall admission, and the application deadline is Feb. 15. We do not accept applications from students who have already received a bachelor's degree. Pomona is test-optional for all applicants through Fall 2024. There is a one-time, non-refundable application fee of $70. However, if you plan to apply for financial aid, and the application fee presents a hardship for you or your family, please complete the Pomona Access Pass form.

Additional Information

At Pomona, diversity isn’t a buzzword. It’s crucial to our educational mission. Students enter with widely divergent backgrounds and experiences. They come from all 50 states (as well as the District of Columbia, Guam and Puerto Rico) and 59 countries outside the U.S. More than half identify as domestic students of color and more than 17% are in the first generation of their family to attend a four-year college or university.

Pomona College admits domestic applicants regardless of their ability to pay and then meets the full demonstrated need of all admitted students. Fifty-seven percent of students receive financial aid.
