Scripps College

Scripps College

When Scripps was founded in 1926 in Claremont, California, it was one of few institutions dedicated to educating women for lives of commitment and engagement. Since then, Scripps has continued to champion qualities of both mind and spirit in accordance with the vision of its founder, newspaper entrepreneur and philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps. Scripps today offers a rigorous interdisciplinary curriculum, a robust intellectual community, a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and a rich residential experience designed to shape the next generation of leaders.

Events

Visit Us: Scripps College’s intellectually stimulating environment, the beauty of our campus, and the warmth of our community can’t be fully communicated through a website. We encourage you and your family to visit Scripps for a campus tour, information session and/or interview.

Overnight Stay: An overnight stay is an excellent way to experience social and residential life at Scripps. Hosted by a current student, visitors spend the night in a residence hall and eat meals in our dining hall. They can also be combined with a campus tour, information session, interview, and/or class visit. Overnight visits are available to current high school seniors and transfers and are held Monday-Thursday.

Off-Campus and Alumnae Interviews: Applicants who live farther than 150 miles from Scripps College and who are unable to travel to campus may be able to interview off campus with an admission officer or alumnae volunteer in their local area. We provide domestic and international interview options.
