Application information

Find out about requirements, fees, and deadlines

First-year

Applications should be submitted by Dec. 1st to be eligible for all scholarships and programs.
We have countless academic choices available! The full course list is available at http://www.ucd.ie/myucd/
Students can apply to up to 4 majors with the same applications, which will all be considered separately.
Applications must be made directly to our specialized programs, like our Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, and the individualized "Biomedical, Health and Life Sciences". See our website for North American students for more information.

Transfer

Note: all students must apply to UCD as first-year students, even if they are looking to transfer from another institution. After admitted, transfer students may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning, which allows them to have their college credits evaluated by the school. This is a highly individualized process based on the academics in the School you would be applying to.

Additional Information

There are no general education requirements at UCD, meaning all students enter directly into their major and only take major classes their entire time at UCD! This also means that many courses, including arts and humanities and business can be completed in just 3 years!
Our scholarships are all merit based, with automatic awards ranging from 10-50% of tuition fees. We also have a prestigious Global Excellence Scholarship, a highly competitive award that offers 50-100% tuition fee scholarships!
Students can use US Federal Loans through FAFSA at UCD, along with other student aid programs such as college savings plans, and local or community scholarships.
For more information on UCD, our entry requirements, and what life in Dublin looks like, be sure to visit our website for North American students.

“UCD was my leap of faith into the world after high school. I had never been to Ireland or the campus before I applied, but the amount of available information and support I received from the UCD Global office was beyond any of my expectations...choosing UCD was the biggest and scariest decision I have ever made, but I could not be more satisfied and proud of my choice. I’m excited to see what my upcoming years at UCD will look like!” Rae, New York
