First-year

If you are in your final year of high school or are a recent high school graduate and haven’t enrolled at another institution, we consider you a first-year applicant. Transfer

Nearly half of our students at UMass Lowell come to us as transfers. Maybe you come to us with an associate’s degree, have credits earned during military experience or you've matriculated at another institution and are looking for the opportunities available at a public research university. Additional Information

Way back in 2015, UMass Lowell became the first public university in New England to offer a No Test Option for applicants. We also give applicants the chance to self report their SAT and ACT scores.
