First-year

The University of Vermont considers a first year student any applicant that is in the process of completing high school or has completed high school, but has not yet matriculated to a college or university. This includes U.S. citizens, permanent residents, refugees, or asylees. Apply via the Common Application by November 1 for Early Action or Early Decision and January 15 for Regular Decision with your nonrefundable application fee of $55. Transfer

Apply via the Common Application by June 1 for fall transfer and November 1 for spring transfer with your nonrefundable application fee of $55. Additionally, please request a final, official high school transcript be sent by email from your high school directly to UVM Admissions (admissions@uvm.edu) and contact each college/university attended directly to request an official transcript be sent to UVM (Registrar may submit official transcripts electronically at collegetranscriptsubmission@uvm.edu.) Successful transfer applicants to UVM typically have a 3.0 GPA. Learn more about how to apply here.

91% of UVM students receive grants and scholarships – scholarships range –up to $20,000 for out of state and international students, –up to $10,000 for Vermonters and up to $10,000 for transfer students*. We invite you to visit our beautiful campus in Burlington, VT, or to learn more about us virtually. Most weeks we offer in person visits Monday-Saturday and host biweekly Virtual Information Sessions during the academic year. Our visits include an information session led by one of our admission counselors, a student Q&A and a guided tour of our campus, including academic buildings, labs and a residence hall.
