Applying to Wellesley is always free and students should select a decision plan that works well for them: Early Decision I, Early Decision II, or Regular Decision. Students will complete a personal essay and a Wellesley-specific essay. To complete the Wellesley specific essay, students should visit The Wellesley 100 and let us know, in two well-developed paragraphs, which two items most attract, inspire, or energize them and why. (Not-so-secret tip: The “why” matters to us.)
For transfer students, the Admission Committee expects to see two semesters of course work completed at another college or university. Transfer students may have attended accredited four- or two-year private or public U.S. institutions.
To connect with Wellesley, first consider your in-person and virtual options. If you’re able to visit campus, we currently offer self-guided tours and student-led tours. To achieve peak-ish Wellesley, we recommend that you attend both an information session and a self-guided campus tour. Each tour lasts about 80 minutes and covers topics including the first-year experience, classroom dynamics, research opportunities, internships, study abroad, the benefits of attending a women’s college, and the admission and financial aid process. Can’t make it to campus? Fret not! Join us for a Wellesley Webinar, Student-to-Student Chat, or a Wellesley event in your area! Want to explore campus virtually? Take our virtual, 360-tour or check out our student-narrated photo tour.
Wellesley has comprehensive resources that support every facet of my identity. From peer health educators to professors that check up on me if I seem blue, I have never felt more at home away from home.
