WPI’s applicants are high achievers and enthusiastic about math and science, but admission isn’t based only on academics. We care about the whole student and like to see diverse interests and activities that reveal curiosity and passion. As a test-blind institution, WPI does not factor SAT or ACT scores into our admission decisions. Students coming from high school or a gap year are considered first-year applicants and admission begins in the fall.
WPI offers 2 rounds of non-binding Early-Action applications due on Nov. 1 or Jan. 15; Two rounds of binding Early-Decision applications due on Nov. 1 or Jan. 15, and the Regular Decision deadline is Feb. 15.
Students currently attending a two- or four-year accredited institution may apply to WPI as transfer students for fall enrollment only. Transcripts should demonstrate a strong background in math, science, and computer or engineering coursework. WPI looks for students who show diverse interests in areas beyond STEM, including the arts and humanities. The transfer application opens January 1 through WPI's transfer application, and is due by May 15. As with first-year applications, the SAT and ACT are not part of our application.
Whether you come to campus for a group tour, a sporting or robotics event, or take a virtual tour from thousands of miles away, the beautiful WPI campus is an exciting place to see. Take time to explore our hilltop campus, eat in the dining hall, examine our labs, and talk with students, faculty, and staff to find out what makes WPI so distinct. Located in a residential area of New England’s second largest city, WPI’s campus offers a close-knit community where students work together to make the world better. Check us out at wpi.edu/+visit.
