Students have always dealt with challenges. In recent years those traumas have come to the forefront, brought about by the coronavirus, racial injustice, economic insecurity, and many other factors. How does this trauma relate to the admissions process, and how do students best share their experiences within the context of college applications? We’ll discuss these questions as well as resources to support counselors as they support their students.

Tuesday, January 26, 10:00 am PT / 1:00 pm ET: It’s Not Too Late to Apply

The application season for Fall 2021 is not over. Far from it! Admission counseling experts will share strategies for encouraging and motivating seniors to apply to college. We’ll also discuss what themes colleges are seeing in their applications along with tips on how to avoid common application missteps.

Tuesday, February 9, 10:00 am PT / 1:00 pm ET: Helping Families Cross the FAFSA Finish Line

Counselors know that students aren’t truly done applying to college until they’ve submitted their FAFSA. This year, far too many low-income students are falling behind. We’ll discuss roadblocks families encounter and strategies for helping them complete the critical financial aid process, including searching for last dollar awards and scholarships.
