UVa-Wise offers 29 majors and 37 minors.  The student to faculty ratio is 13:1 and most classes are taught by full time faculty members in all disciplines.

The College offers accredited programs in education, computer science, software engineering, chemistry, and nursing.  The teacher education program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).  The computer science and software engineering programs are accredited by ABET.  The chemistry program is accredited by the American Chemical Society (ACS).  The nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNN).

The College offers extensive financial aid and scholarship assistance to help provide a high quality, affordable education.  83% of students qualify for some form of assistance and UVa-Wise is consistently recognized by U.S. News and World Report for graduates with low indebtedness levels when compared to the national average.
