Wartburg College, a liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, is home to about 1,500 students from more than 30 U.S. states and 50 countries representing many Christian denominations and several other world religions. The college offers more than 50 majors, including engineering, exercise science, business administration, and biology. Students can perform in music ensembles, compete on Division III athletic teams, and lead in student organizations. Each year, students lead service trips that not only help the communities they visit but also inspire students to transform their thinking and create a lifelong commitment to service and the public good.

First-year

Wartburg is selective in granting admission to graduates of an accredited high school or college. Students may enroll at Wartburg beginning with the Fall, Winter, or Summer term. All students who have not taken the recommended college preparation, and/or scored an 18 ACT (790 SAT) composite or below, and/or rank in the lower half of their high school graduating class will be reviewed by the Admissions and Scholarship Committee for a final decision.

Transfer

Credit for course work at regionally accredited colleges or universities is generally applied toward a bachelor degree at Wartburg if the following criteria are met: the final grade for the course is a C- or better and the regionally accredited college or university is defined as a liberal arts institution accredited by an approved regional accrediting commission. To be equivalent to a specific Wartburg course, the transfer course must meet the minimum contact hours for the credit earned. More details can be found in our Academic Catalog.

Additional Information

Regardless of your financial standing, Wartburg is committed to making education attainable for you. As a residential college, Wartburg supports the concept of a socially, culturally, and economically diverse student body and believes this diversity better prepares students for society. The college provides financial aid to enable students from all segments of society to attend. Wartburg believes that students should be able to select a school for academic rather than financial reasons. It admits students on academic and personal promise, not the ability to pay.
