Common App joins forces with the state of Connecticut to connect more students to college opportunities
Today, Common App announced that it is partnering with the state of Connecticut through the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) to offer thousands of students in the state direct admissions to both public and private institutions through their Connecticut Automatic Admissions Program (CAAP).

This partnership is one of many ways we can simplify the admissions process and expand access to postsecondary opportunities; through a trusted platform that over 1.4 million students use each year.”
“We are thrilled to partner with Common App to help ease the pathway into college and eliminate barriers to higher education for Connecticut’s high school seniors who might not consider college,” said CSCU Chancellor Terrence Cheng. “This partnership represents educational access and equity while helping increase the number of high school seniors attending college who will ultimately be well-prepared to enter into the state’s workforce.”
Connecticut high school seniors who meet identified thresholds are eligible to be automatically admitted to participating colleges and universities. To streamline the process, students who create a Common App account and meet the established criteria will receive an email congratulating them on receiving auto-admit offers and inviting them to complete any remaining steps. Common App’s partnership with Connecticut will also include tailored resources and programming for counselors and students.
In addition to providing a single, online application and 24/7/365 support for all students applying to member colleges and universities, Common App connects applicants to over 1,000 postsecondary opportunities, a mobile app, financial aid and scholarship information, online portfolios, and a vast library of counselor resources available in English and Spanish.
