First-year students not transferring from another institution have three options for their application timeline:
1). Early Decision—apply by Nov. 1, deposit by Dec. 15
2). Early Action—apply by Nov. 1, deposit by May 1
3). Regular Decision—apply by April 1, deposit by May 1
The Early Decision application is a binding commitment meant for students who are sure to enroll if accepted. Early Action also is a good option for students who want to receive their financial aid packages and other communications from the college sooner, which can help with college selection and planning.
Students interested in transferring to Augustana use the same application and process as high school seniors, except without the option of applying Early Decision. Transfer students may apply as
1.) Early Action applicants (apply by Nov. 1, deposit by May 1)
2.) Regular Decision (apply by April 1, deposit by May 1)
Transfer students must have completed at least one semester of college-level coursework. Admission is based on overall academic strength, with a preferred minimum transferable GPA of 2.50.
During the 2023-2024 academic year Augustana is offering small-group Viking Visits and one-on-one visits on campus. These in-person options are available throughout the year. Students who take part in an official visit scheduled through admissions, athletics or fine arts become eligible for a Campus Visit Grant up to $4,000 ($1,000 each year at Augustana).
“The world needs our graduates. Augustana's exceptional commitment to career preparation ensures our graduates are ready to excel in their workplaces, graduate schools and communities.”
