First-year

To apply to Calvin, please submit the following: - The Common Application - High school transcript – completed by your guidance counselor through the application - College transcripts – if you’ve done any college course work - Standardized test scores (ACT, SAT, or CLT) are optional. (Submitting test scores will not disadvantage students, but some named scholarships require standardized test scores for consideration.)

Calvin will no longer require students to submit standardized test scores when applying for undergraduate admission. Our admission team will consider each application individually to learn about your academic achievements, unique talents, leadership, and service activities, and any other information you choose to submit in your application. We look for students who demonstrate they want to be involved in a welcoming and diverse campus community and who value faith, discovery, and community.

Additional Information

100% of new Calvin students receive financial aid. The Calvin Promise is our commitment of at least $21,000 in financial aid for qualifying students based on your high school GPA and the academic rigor of your high school. (Learn more at calvin.edu/promise.) You can also apply for need-based financial aid by submitting a FAFSA. We also encourage you to apply for named scholarships between December 1 and January 31, 2024.
