First-year

Students should apply as first-year applicants if they are still enrolled in high school or have graduated from high school but have not matriculated at another college or university.

Transfer

Students should apply as transfer applicants if they have graduated from high school and have matriculated at a college or university. We accept up to 64 semester credit hours toward a degree as determined by the Colby Registrar.

  • Colby’s DavisConnects program guarantees every student access to a global internship or research experience, regardless of their ability to pay.
  • Thanks to a gift of $100 million in American art from the Lunder family, Colby established the Lunder Institute for American Art, the only research institute focused on American art at any college similar in size to Colby.
  • In 2020 Colby opened a new 350,000 square foot athletics center. This $200 million state-of-the-art center will be one of the premier sports venues in the country.
  • The Davis Institute for Artificial Intelligence at Colby is the first cross-disciplinary institute for artificial intelligence (AI) at a liberal arts college.

  • Families earning up to $75,000 with typical assets can expect a parent or guardian contribution of $0. Families earning up to $150,000 with typical assets will have a parent or guardian contribution of no more than $15,000.
