First-year applicants at TCNJ are those who 1) are completing high school at the time of their application, or 2) students who have earned their high school diploma or GED but have not formally enrolled at another college. Students earning college credit and/or graduating with an Associates Degree through their high school are still considered first-year students for admissions purposes.

Transfer

Transfer applicants at TCNJ have earned their high school diploma or GED and have earned 12 or more college credits at a two-year and/or four-year institution after completing high school.

Additional Information

TCNJ is regularly named a "Best Value" by third-party organizations like Money Magazine. TCNJ offers scholarships to incoming first-year students based primarily on academics, though some awards take into account leadership and community service. Need-based aid is available by submitting the FAFSA form.  TCNJ also awards Lion’s Pride Need-Based Scholarships to merit scholarship recipients who demonstrate financial need.

Visit us

TCNJ offers admissions presentations and campus tours most weekdays during the year.  For students who tour in an unofficial capacity, TCNJ has a Self-Guided Tour Brochure.

Lions Day Open Houses are held on five weekends during the year and are "choose your own adventure"-style events. While admissions presentations and tours are featured at Lions Day, TCNJ also showcases all academic departments, financial aid and other key campus services. Lions Days are the only on-campus events that includes tours of the residence halls.

TCNJ also offers virtual opportunities through our virtual tour and virtual admissions presentations.

TCNJ stands out for its incredible sense of community. Whether it's in the classroom or among the countless ways to get involved, this school has provided me with the skills I need to be successful in all aspects of life.
