Application information
Find out about requirements, fees, and deadlines
We offer admissions pathways that are rooted in promoting student success. Admission to FIU is selective, and when we review an application, we consider the applicant’s probability of success based on their academic accomplishments and opportunities.
For programs in music, art, architecture, and theater, supplemental application materials, portfolios, and/or auditions are required. For additional information, please visit the College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts website.
Applicants graduating with an Associate of Arts degree from one of the member colleges of the Florida College System or the State University System, and high school diploma, may be eligible for admission under a special category. Please see the website for details.
FIU requires all incoming students to submit all official academic transcripts. Applications will not be reviewed until they are complete.

Additional Information
FIU awards merit-based scholarships to admitted first-time-in-college (FTIC) students. FIU will automatically consider students for these merit-based scholarships when they submit and complete the freshman admissions application for Early Fall/ Fall 2026 by November 1, 2025, for those attending Florida high schools and December 17 for those who attend out-of-state or overseas high schools.>
