A first-year-in-college student has earned a standard high school diploma (or equivalent) from a regionally accredited high school, and has earned fewer than twelve semester hours of transferable college credit since receiving a high school diploma. The application review is a holistic and selective process, and no single criterion guarantees admission. We consider all submitted documentation, and carefully review academic records and test scores to ensure you are prepared for the rigorous curriculum at Florida State University.
In addition, all admitted students are automatically considered for one of our merit-based scholarships (University Freshman or Out-of-State Tuition Waiver). Students admitted in January will have priority consideration for our admissions scholarships. For more information, visit admissions/fsu.edu/freshman/finances.
