First-year

Are you ready to soar? If you’re finishing high school — or have recently graduated and have not taken any college courses since graduating — you’ll apply as a freshman.

For Fall 2026, ACT or SAT scores are required for admission.
Our scholarship application is built into the admission application, so there’s no extra step! Apply by February 1 for priority consideration.

Transfer

At Georgia Southern, we value the unique strengths transfer students bring and are here to support your success with personalized guidance, credit evaluation help, and a welcoming community focused on real-world learning. Whether you’re looking for the right fit, a fresh start, or your next step, explore our transfer resources and see how you can soar beyond with us.

Georgia Southern offers regular, conditional, and first-year transfer admission. To be considered a regular transfer student, you’ll need:

  • 30 or more transferable credit hours
  • a 2.0+ GPA and
  • eligibility to return to your current school

If you’ve earned fewer than 30 credit hours, you can apply as a first-year transfer student.
