Every application is reviewed individually to determine potential for academic and career success. The admission evaluation considers such factors as cumulative grade point average, test scores if submitted, and class rank, but recent academic improvement, life challenges, and strong motivation are also considered.
We require:
A completed online application
An official high school transcript, home school completion certificate, or Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED) and any college transcripts
We are SAT or ACT Optional. We will evaluate applicants based on the application and the high school transcript alone if scores are not submitted.

We are a “Transfer-Friendly” institution, and we award the same amount of merit scholarships as we award to first-year students.

Additional Information

Economic Mobility Index Places GBC in the Top 20% of Colleges Nationwide!

Unlike traditional college rankings—which prioritize selectivity and test scores—the Economic Mobility Index places value on how well institutions serve their low- and moderate-income students in addition to the proportion of low- and moderate-income students a school enrolls. In other words, which colleges help low- and moderate-income students achieve an income that moves these students economically upward, at a reasonable cost?

The Economic Mobility Index ranked 1320 U.S. colleges, assigning each a rank, and then demarcating five tiers, from the top 20% (Tier 1) to the bottom 20% (Tier 5). Goldey-Beacom College earned an impressive Tier 1 ranking, the only college in Delaware to do so. In fact, all other Delaware colleges are in Tier 4. Of the 1320 colleges ranked, Goldey-Beacom College earned 139th place overall.

So what does all this mean? When it comes to serving under-served communities of students, Goldey-Beacom ranks among the best colleges for providing meaningful economic advancement for the students who need it most. The traditional big-name colleges provide economic advantages for the needy students they enroll, but they enroll so very few. The colleges who enroll vast numbers of needy students may not provide the economic advancement students expect from earning a college degree. The Tier 1 schools recognized in this ranking help significant numbers of low- to moderate-income students achieve significant economic advancement with the degrees earned. And we rank among the very best at attaining both of these goals.
