First-year

Our admissions process is highly individualized. We look at you as a whole student. We look not just at your previous academic achievement, but also at your personal qualities and intellectual promise—qualifications that may not be reflected in standardized test scores, which are optional in Goucher’s admissions process.

Transfer

Transfer students are required to submit an essay, an official college transcript(s) from all colleges attended, an official high school transcript (if fewer than 30 attempted credits), and a recommendation letter.  Goucher does not charge an application fee and transfer scholarships are available.

Additional Information

Goucher College is a private, liberal arts college dedicated to teaching students to be complex problem-solvers prepared for the jobs of the future in a global economy. Our small class sizes, innovative curriculum, and dedicated faculty and staff allow for personalized mentorship for each student. Students’ individuality and passion will shape their college experience.

We offer students the ability to explore their passions while learning the practical skills employers are seeking through our innovative Goucher Commons Curriculum. Rather than generalized classes, Goucher students take deep-dive explorations into timely, relevant world issues. Students use critical thinking to build on high-level problem-solving skills.

Our students gain career experience through our internship accelerator that provides on-the-job experience starting in their first year. Additionally, we’ve recently created
new graduate degree pathways, including a 4+1 BA/MS program with Johns Hopkins University.

Our approach is so effective we were ranked in the top 20% of all colleges nationwide in terms of lifetime return on investments for an education.

I'm in a place where I'm doing exactly what I had hoped. My classes are my passion, and I love my professors, so every day I want to work for it. Goucher is my home.
