Hamline University considers you to be a first-year student if you will graduate from high school in the spring of 2026, (regardless of total completed college credits while in high school) or if you have graduated from high school but have not enrolled at a college, university or other degree-granting institution after high school.
Hamline is test-optional. We will accept your application with or without ACT or SAT scores. 100% of admitted students, regardless of test submission, are eligible and considered for Hamline merit scholarships.
Hamline University considers you to be a transfer student if you have graduated from high school (or earned your GED) and have taken any college classes or enrolled at a college, university or other degree-granting institution after high school. College credits earned while in high school do not qualify a student for transfer status.
