Application information

First-year

Students may apply to Juniata using the Common Application any time beginning August 1st (after completion of their junior year in secondary school). The Office of Admission reviews student applications holistically. We consider a student’s high school transcript, Common Application essay, recommendation letters, standardized test scores (if provided, we are a test-optional school), interactions with the College, and student engagement both inside and outside the school community. There is no application fee for domestic students, and students are encouraged to apply early in the fall of their senior year to be considered for available merit scholarships.

Transfer

Applicants are considered transfer students if they have graduated from an approved secondary school program and completed the equivalent of at least one full-time semester of coursework at a regionally accredited community college, junior college, or four-year institution. The Office of Admission reviews student applications holistically. A transfer application consists of the application, final high school transcript, standardized test scores (if provided, we are a test-optional school), College Report, and college transcript(s).

Additional Information

The Office of Student Financial Planning is dedicated to helping students and their families manage the costs of a Juniata education through scholarships, grants, advice, and information about other resources and means by which the cost of education can be met. At Juniata, we are committed to affordability, knowing that families are making an investment in financing their education. We also have an exceptionally low default rate of 0.9%, compared to the national average of 11.5%. This means that 99% of our students achieve outcomes that make their debt manageable. In short, we strive to ensure that we help families maximize the use of resources available to them.
