Find out about requirements, fees, and deadlines

Applying to Kent State University for first-year applicants is easy to do either online or through the Common Application. Submit your application and fee online. Then, provide the necessary supporting materials. The Admissions Office will process your application quickly and help you understand your next steps during the review process. Freshman admission at the Kent Campus is selective and first-year admissions decisions are based on a student's cumulative grade point average, ACT and/or SAT scores, the strength of their high school college preparatory curriculum, and grade trends.

By transferring to Kent State, we provide a new path and new possibilities. A transfer student is someone who was enrolled at another institution, technical or proprietary school after high school and is now applying to Kent State. Transfer students must apply through our online transfer student application and submit transcripts from each institution attended, whether or not you have earned credits or the school is regionally accredited. Applicants with fewer than 12 semester hours of college coursework should also submit an official high school transcript including ACT or SAT scores.
