First-year

Linfield welcomes first-year applicants who will enroll directly after high school. This includes those who completed early college programs, such as Running Start.

An offer of admission is based on individual merit through a comprehensive review process. Our admission committee evaluates applications based on academic performance in high school, writing and letters of recommendation.

Linfield does not use test scores as part of the admission, scholarship or financial aid process. The transcripts of all students are recalculated as part of the application review process to weight AP, IB and marked dual enrollment credits.

Transfer

Linfield welcomes transfer applicants who have graduated high school and previously enrolled at a college or university with a minimum of 12-semester credits completed. If you have yet to complete high school but are enrolled in early college programs, you are considered a first-year applicant.

An offer of admission is based on individual merit through a comprehensive review process. Our admission committee evaluates applications based on academic performance, writing and letters of recommendation.

Transfer applicants must submit an official transcript from each college or university you previously attended, regardless of whether credit was earned or is desired to be transferred.

Additional Information

We hope you agree that a college education is a smart investment in your future. Linfield has been named the best college in Oregon to get a job by Zippia (2019-2022), 7th among liberal arts colleges in the US for median graduate earnings (Washington Monthly, 2022) and among top performers on social mobility by U.S. News & World Report (2023).

Visit us

There’s nothing like actually visiting to get a feel for what a place is really like. Especially when it comes to choosing a “home away from home” for college.

"I do think that coming to Linfield was pretty much the best thing for me. It opened up so many different opportunities, ideas, friendships, and relationships that I wouldn’t have had before."
