At Piedmont University, a student is considered a “first year applicant” if they have not attended any college since high school. Students who are dual-enrolled in college courses while they are/were in high school are still considered first year students even if they have enough college credit to be classified as a sophomore or higher. If you have already graduated, you will still be considered first year until you have taken a college course of any sort post-graduation.
At Piedmont University, a student is considered a “transfer applicant” if they have attended any college since they graduated high school or obtained a GED. This could mean you have one credit hour or 120 credit hours and you’d still be considered a transfer. However, you will only be able to attend our Athens campus if you have 30 or more transferable credit hours.
