First-year

Admission to RIT is competitive, but our admission process is a personal one. We’re test-optional, so you can choose whether to include SAT or ACT scores as part of your application. What matters most is your academic performance, personal interests, and potential for success. Submit your application, along with your high school transcript and any letters of recommendation. Be sure to check program-specific requirements, like portfolios or additional materials. We offer Early Decision I or II, Early Action, and Regular Decision plans, giving you the flexibility to apply on your timeline.

Transfer

Admission to RIT is competitive, but our admission process is a personal one. We are interested in learning about your interests, abilities, and goals in order to provide the best information and guidance we can as you select the college that is right for you. You should apply to RIT as a transfer student if you have completed secondary school and have attended college.
