Russell Sage College, formerly known as The Sage Colleges, is a coeducational private college with two campuses. Sage’s locations in the neighboring cities of Albany and Troy, New York, offer two distinct experiences. Sage offers competitive undergraduate programs in Art + Design, Business, Creative & Performing Arts, Education, Health Sciences, Law & Public Policy and the Liberal Arts and Sciences. Linked and accelerated programs allow eligible students to complete a bachelor’s and graduate degree in less time than it would take to pursue the degrees individually. Small classes -- the student-to-faculty ratio is 11:1 -- guaranteed personal attention.

First-year

Beyond a first-class education, you will enhance your personal growth — and most importantly, you will have fun doing it. In small and innovative classes, you will learn from practicing researchers, authors and Fulbright scholars. And yes, they will know you by name. First year applicants are required to submit their high school transcript, two letters of recommendation as well as a personal essay for their applications. Students with interest in our Visual and Performing arts programs are also required to submit either a portfolio or complete an audition. Sage is SAT/ACT test optional.

Transfer

As a transfer student at Sage, you will enhance your personal growth — and most importantly, you will have fun doing it In small and innovative classes, you will learn from practicing researchers, authors and Fulbright scholars. And yes, they will know you by name. Students applying as transfers are required to submit all college transcripts, a career goals essay and a letter of recommendation. Students with interest in our Visual and Performing arts programs are also required to submit either a portfolio or complete an audition.

Additional Information

Internships, work-study placements and service-learning projects combine education, professional networking and community involvement. A strong partnership between Career Planning and Alumni Relations increases networking opportunities for students and graduates. 
Seventeen men’s and women’s athletics teams compete in the NCAA Division III Empire 8 Conference. A professional theatre company and the renowned Opalka Gallery enrich both campuses and the community.
Frequent shuttles make the resources on Sage’s two campuses accessible to all students.
