First-year
Ready to apply to Sacred Heart University as a first-year student? Take these steps:
- Register for a campus visit to experience SHU in person.
- Submit your Common Application by the appropriate deadline.
- Ask your guidance office to submit your current official high school transcript.
- Submit one letter of recommendation from an individual other than a family member.
- Submit a non-refundable $50 application fee when completing your Common Application.
- SHU is a test-optional school. If you choose to submit your standardized test scores, use the following Sacred Heart University codes: SAT Code: 3780, ACT Code: 0589, AP Code: 3780, TOEFL Code: 3780.
- If you are applying Early Decision, submit the Early Decision Contract and schedule a virtual interview.
- If you completed college coursework in high school, you may submit official college transcripts with final grades to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for consideration toward SHU credit.
Transfer
Ready to apply to Sacred Heart University as a transfer student? Here's how:
- Submit your application. You can submit before all your materials are ready—requested transcripts will be added to your file as we receive them.
- Request official transcripts from all colleges and universities you have previously attended. You may submit unofficial transcripts for a preliminary review and credit evaluation.
- Request your official high school transcript or GED be sent directly to SHU.
- Submit one letter of recommendation (optional) from a professor, counselor, adviser, or employer.
- Pay the non-refundable $50 application fee.
- Complete the Conduct Record Release Form prior to beginning classes.
- Visit campus to experience SHU first-hand.
