Additional Information

When we see potential in students, we do our best to make sure tuition costs don’t stop them from getting a great education. More than 90% of Saint Mary’s students receive some form of financial aid. Enabling students to access a Saint Mary’s education is part of both our commitment to individual attention and our Lasallian heritage. Typically, students receive a combination of state and federal grants, SMC grants, and need-based and non-need-based government and private loans. We also proudly participate in the GI BILL® and Yellow Ribbon Program. Those are all in addition to the many merit-based scholarships available as a result of noteworthy academic performance and specific department honors. Many students combine these resources, making the average Saint Mary’s financial aid package approximately $38,000 a year. To receive a full financial aid package once admitted, you’ll need to file the FAFSA using our school code: 001302.

Saint Mary’s is a beautiful campus just 23 miles east of San Francisco distinguished by the white walls and red tile roofs of its Spanish Renaissance–California Mission-style architecture, and surrounded by grass-covered hills. The College is known for its tightly knit community, where students connect with other students, alumni, staff, and faculty members. Get a glimpse of what SMC’s students enjoy every day of the school year.

SMC's career guidance and professional preparation gave me the determination and exposure to explore my interests and passions. By the time I graduated, I’d participated in a service project in Brazil and organized a student-led fundraiser to provide aid for Hurricane Katrina survivors. This couldn’t happen everywhere.
