Older than the United States, Salem was founded in 1772 with the revolutionary premise that education should be accessible to all. 250 years later, Salem prepares aspiring leaders to make the world a better, healthier, and more equitable place. Salem College is unequaled in its commitment to value students as individuals, and to develop their unique potential through a supportive, inclusive community. Every student at Salem College completes a first year seminar, internships, and a senior capstone experience. Ranked #4th in the nation for social mobility, Salem College helps students achieve their goals and change the world. Salem graduates have achieved a remarkable 100% acceptance rate to law school and 90% acceptance to medical, dental, and other health-related graduate programs.

First-year

Salem College considers applications on a rolling basis, without deadlines for 'early decision'. The regular admission deadline is March 15. Applicants are required to submit the Common App. SAT or ACT scores are optional, and choosing not to report test scores does not affect merit scholarship eligibility. All accepted students are immediately and automatically considered for merit-based scholarships. In addition, some full tuition scholarships, including the Salem Scholars awards in health leadership, require a separate application.

"Salem prepares you for a world of possibilities. At every turn, Salem pushed me to explore and capitalize on my education. Today, I live in Rwanda and work for a social entrepreneurship organization that helps farmers in East Africa grow their way out of poverty."
