First-year

Towson University makes applying easy. TU is also test-optional. A holistic review process is used to determine freshman admission. The primary factors in our evaluation are based on your high school courses, grades and supplemental materials submitted with the application. We will evaluate the academic rigor in the context of the high school environment, extracurricular involvement, college application essay, and other information provided on your application.

Submit your application with all required materials by TU’s new November 15 Early Action deadline to be automatically considered for merit-based scholarships. Early Action is also the application deadline for TU's competitive Honors College. TU's final Regular Decision deadline is February 1. See our Admission Requirements & Deadlines for more information.

Transfer

Our mission is to ensure a seamless and well-informed transfer student experience. TU's Transfer Student Center can help you plan your transfer, from how your credits will transfer to the best pathway to your bachelor’s degree. See our Transfer Credit Policies and learn more about our Community College Partnerships.

Important Deadlines & Application Requirements:

  • November 15: Spring deadline (remains open on a space-available basis).
  • March 1: Fall Early Action deadline (to be considered for merit-based transfer scholarships or the Honors College).
  • June 1: Fall Regular Decision deadline (application may stay open on a space-available basis).
