Come to Trinity if complexity intrigues you, if diversity inspires you, if independent thinking is at the core of who you are. Take advantage of our urban location and global outreach, explore the breadth of our academic programs, and contribute positively to our college community. Here, you’ll move past any perceived limitations to discover what it’s like to be a bold, transformative leader. Trinity exclusively accepts the Common Application and will waive the application fee for first-generation college students (both domestic and international).

If you envision yourself in a place that encourages innovation, builds resilience, promotes balance, and instills the joy of lifelong learning, it’s never too late to join the Trinity community. Applicants who have matriculated at another collegiate institution, regardless of completed work, are considered transfer candidates. Applicants who have registered for college classes on a non-matriculant, non-degree-seeking basis only, may register as first-year candidates. This includes students who have taken college courses for high school credit. All applicants must submit the Common Application.

Additional Information

Interested in a non-traditional beginning to your college experience? Trinity offers alternative avenues for applying and enrolling at the college.

Students who want to start college in January, not September, are invited to join the J-Start program at Trinity. Students who plan to take a gap semester and enroll in January often use the fall to pursue a variety of opportunities. Some students choose to garner work experience, others travel, and many use the term break as time to volunteer or take advantage of special programs offered to gap semester students. J-Start is an integrated academic, social, and experiential learning experience for students like you who are ready to hit the ground running when they get to college. From community engagement to career experiences, research, and more, you’ll find that gaining real-world insight is an important part of what we do.

Global Start
Would you like to begin Trinity with an adventure abroad in Costa Rica? Apply for Global Start and spend your fall semester living and learning in the vibrant capital city of San José. Engage with fellow Trinity students, with international students, with your Trinity professor, with Costa Rican faculty and community organizations. Explore global issues from development and sustainability to human rights and Latin American politics. The academic and cultural experiences you’ll have in Costa Rica will lead naturally into many majors and initiatives once you return to Trinity in Hartford.

Trinity students integrate meaningful academic and leadership experience on the college’s celebrated campus, in the capital city of Hartford, Connecticut, and in communities all over the world. If you never visit Trinity, you won’t understand its unmistakable sense of place. Few other American colleges can match our beautiful, historic campus in the heart of a resurgent capital city. Come see Trinity for yourself. We’re excited to meet you.

I chose to attend Trinity because of its strong and diverse Human Rights Program. I wanted to benefit from Trinity's small class size and Hartford's rich culture.
