New freshman students interested in applying for the fall semester should plan to submit an application and supporting materials before the early admissions deadline of November 1. While applications are accepted until the following August, students who apply early can take advantage of priority scholarship, housing, and orientation options. Students who plan to attend the U of A immediately following high school graduation should apply as first-year, new freshman students. Typically new freshmen have no college credit or have earned college credit while in high school.
The U of A encourages applications from students who wish to transfer. High school graduates who have earned fewer than 24 transferable college credit hours after graduation should plan to apply as transfer freshmen. Graduates who have earned more than 24 transferable college credit hours after high school should apply as transfer students. The University of Arkansas does not currently accept the Common App for transfer students. Visit transfer.uark.edu for additional information about transferring to the U of A.
