Anyone applying for admission to a college or university for the first time after graduating from high school, or earning a General Educational Diploma (GED), is a first-year student for admission purposes. Students who completed college courses while still in high school may have credits that will be considered for transfer toward their college degree, but they still apply as first-year students.
Thinking of transferring to CU Denver? We have the resources and experience needed to help you transfer here successfully. As Colorado's only public urban research university, our faculty combines rigorous academics with experiential learning to prepare you to enter the job market on day-one. Along with your application, we require official transcripts from all the accredited higher education institutions you attended. For students with 23 or fewer credits, we require your high school transcript, as well.
"CU Denver serves students who have traditionally been left out of higher education—who make an intentional choice to be here. Our faculty and staff know that the work we are doing is important. They are here because they want to support our students. There is a hunger for innovation and a belief that we can do things in new and creative ways."
