Admission for freshman applicants is based on a holistic review including high school grades, national college admission test results, successful completion of the pre-college curriculum and a written essay.
Applicants with 24 or more transferrable courses post high school graduation with a 2.00 GPA will be considered for admission. Applicants with fewer than 24 hours must also submit a high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores.
The Visitor Center offers 30-minute information sessions followed by 90-minute campus tours every weekday at the University of Kentucky. The information session is designed to cover admission, scholarship, and housing information for prospective freshmen. (The Visitor Center also offers select transfer student sessions and tours each month). After your information session, you'll be led by a student tour guide on a 90-minute walking tour of campus. Your tour will include stops at William T. Young Library and the new Jacobs Science Building
