The University of Louisville is a research and innovation powerhouse, located in Kentucky's largest metropolitan area. Our students and campus are dynamically connected to our great city, creating a vital ecosystem that sustains thriving futures for our students, the local and global community, and society. UofL has earned recognition as a “Research 1” and “Community Engaged” university by the Carnegie Foundation, one of only 79 of more than 4,000 universities in the country that can claim both distinctions. Our 12 colleges and schools, and over 200 majors, allow our students to unleash their potential and prepare them for the careers, workplaces and complex challenges of tomorrow.

First-year

Ready to join the Cardinal family? The application process has several advantages: no letters of recommendation, no essays, optional ACT/SAT score submission, automatic scholarship consideration and a quick admission decision. The University of Louisville seeks to admit students who are college-ready. Students who don't meet automatic admission standards will be considered on a one-on-one basis. Our goal is to evaluate all factors, and accept students who will be successful at UofL.

Students who choose to apply without ACT/SAT scores may be prompted to submit additional materials, depending upon their chosen major. Learn more about our admission standards here. Please submit a high school transcript and $30 fee. Students on free or reduced lunch do not pay the fee.

We look forward to reviewing your application. We will work hard to help make your dream of attending UofL a reality. If you have any questions about the application process or next steps, please contact your personal admissions counselor.

Transfer

The University of Louisville is not accepting transfer applications through Common App. You can learn more about transferring to UofL and complete your application here.
