Complete the First Year application if the University of Minnesota Morris will be the first college you wish to enroll at after graduating from high school. Although you may have earned college credit while still in high school and can transfer that work to Morris you will still be defined as a first-year student since this will be the first time you are a degree-seeking student. You get the best of both worlds - a jump start on college from the courses you transfer in but maintain eligibility for our generous renewable scholarships that we award to first year students.

Please complete a Transfer application if The University of Minnesota Morris if you enrolled at another college after graduating from high school. If you earned college credit while still in high school and this will be the first college you attend after high school graduation you should complete the First Year application.

Additional Information

The University of Minnesota Morris offers first year students the opportunity to self-report high school grades and ACT or SAT scores, saving time, delays, and costs when applying for admission.  After submitting your Common Application complete your Self-Reported Academic Record and share it with UMN Morris.  Once received we'll review your application and get a decision to you quickly.

Students are immediately considered for a scholarship package upon admission to the University of Minnesota Morris.  Once you are admitted we use the information you provide in your application for admission to determine your eligibility for all of our campus scholarships,   Your eligibility for other aid is determined through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  The Morris FAFSA code is 002389.

Here are a few details to keep in mind:
1) If you haven't already started your profile or shared it with UMN Morris you need to complete and submit your RaiseMe profile to our campus by December 1.  You should submit your application for admission on or before that date as well. Not familiar with RaiseMe? It's a great way to earn scholarships for things you already should be doing to be prepared for college.

2) Our Prairie, Morris, and Distinguished Scholars awards require you to apply and complete your application for admission by November 1 and no later than December 15.

3) Our Achievement Scholarships are awarded all year. Interested students should apply as soon as possible, no later than August 1.

Visit us

Our students continually tell us their visit to campus was essential when they decided to attend UMN Morris. One day on campus lets you accomplish what might take you months to do from afar, making it the perfect strategy for busy people. We promise it's time well spent! A custom visit allows you to meet other students, attend a class, ask a professor questions, meet with a OneStop counselor about paying for college, meet with an athletic coach, tour campus, or sit down with your admissions counselor and ask them anything! Our visit events on convenient dates are great options too.

Great things come in small packages! Morris is a school that genuinely wants its students. I felt comfortable investing in a school that would invest in me.
