Find out about requirements, fees, and deadlines
The University of Pittsburgh operates on rolling admission, which means that, for our first-year students, there’s no set deadline for applying to Pitt. We make admissions decisions throughout the year, so it’s to your advantage to apply early—it’ll help you stay ahead of deadlines for scholarships, Frederick Honors College, and our Graduate School Guaranteed Admissions Programs. Every application receives a holistic review by taking your academic record into account, while also looking for what makes you unique and a good fit to attend college at Pitt.
As you’re thinking about where you want to finish your degree, we encourage you to explore the transfer experience at Pitt and see how transfer students thrive here! We recommend starting with our Transfer Tool to see which credits will count towards your degree at Pitt and reviewing important deadlines for your application submission.
Your application will be reviewed holistically, which considers factors such as grade trends, cumulative grade point average, number of credits completed, the level of challenge of your curriculum, your intended field of study, transferable courses and credits, coursework completed that is relevant to your school/major, and the type(s) of institution(s) you have attended.

Pitt showed me it’s possible to really do anything. I know it's so cliche, but it has, and without it, I doubt I would see me in the healthcare field realistically. Pitt really showed me what’s possible.” -Christopher Marabello ‘26
