First-year

First-year applicants are currently completing high school (or equivalent) or in a post graduate year. Applicants with fewer than 12 college credit hours completed after high school graduation are considered First-year applicants.

Transfer

Transfer applicants must complete two or more semesters of college work (post high school graduation) with at least 12 credit hours to apply. Applicants must submit official transcripts from every college attended as well as a final high school transcript. While SAT or ACT scores are not required, they are strongly encouraged for applicants who have completed fewer than 60 credit hours.

Additional Information

Merit Scholarships
Richmond offers merit scholarships for first-year applicants. All applicants who apply by December 1 are considered for the Richmond Scholars Program, the University's most prestigious academic award. The scholarship is equal to full tuition, room and meals and is renewable for eight consecutive semesters of full-time enrollment. Students who are competitive for the scholarship are highly accomplished academically and also demonstrate engaged leadership, a strong sense of purpose, and interest in a diverse and inclusive community. No separate application is required.

Richmond also awards Presidential Scholarships, equal to one-third tuition, to students who have achieved outstanding high school records in a highly rigorous curriculum. All applicants who apply for first-year admission are considered. No separate application required.

Other scholarships are available. Please review the Prospective Undergraduates Financial Aid information.

Need-based Financial Aid
For all admitted students, First-year and Transfer, Richmond guarantees to meet 100% of the family's demonstrated financial need. In addition, U.S. citizens and permanent residents' applications are considered in a need-blind admission review, which means that the family's finances are not a factor in the admission decision. We are need-aware for non-U.S. citizens and permanent residents.
