Application information

Find out about requirements, fees, and deadlines

First-year

You are a first-year applicant if you are a student who is currently enrolled in high school and will graduate at the end of the current academic year, or who has graduated from high school and has not yet completed college courses. This does not include attendance at a college summer session immediately following high school graduation.

Transfer

You are a transfer applicant if you: have already completed high school OR have received a General Education Diploma (GED) OR have successfully completed a State High School Proficiency Examination AND have ever enrolled in college classes.

Additional Information

Cost shouldn’t be a barrier to a top-notch college education. At USD, we’re committed to doing everything we can to get you the best financial aid available. We offer many different types of scholarships to students — some of which are based on athletic achievement, involvement with USD’s various music and choral programs and one for those with NROTC affiliation. Additionally, all first-year applicants are automatically considered for merit scholarships ranging between $18,000 and $25,000 per year.
