Find out about requirements, fees, and deadlines
First year applicants are students who are currently in high school and/or are in the WA State Running Start program and plan to enter UW Tacoma right after graduating high school. You will also be considered a first year applicant if you have never attended college since leaving high school, regardless of your age.
We offer an Early Action application. It is due November 15. Students will receive their admissions decision by January. Our Priority Application deadline is January 15. Decision notifications are rolling. Students that apply by Early Action and Priority deadlines are considered for merit scholarships.
Transfer applicants are students who are no longer in high school, have completed college coursework at a regionally-accredited college or university since leaving high school, and have not yet completed a bachelors degree.

In my first quarter, I discovered that diversity at UW Tacoma is a seat at the table. I started going to different events and programs and the people here made me feel included in the conversation; my experiences matter.
