Founded in 1861, Vassar College is a highly selective, residential, coeducational liberal arts college. Consistently ranked among the top liberal arts colleges in the country, Vassar is renowned for pioneering achievements in education, for its long history of curricular innovation, and for the beauty of its campus. First and foremost, Vassar is a liberal arts college. We have a diverse student body (2,450 students from 50 states and 60 countries), a distinguished faculty (290 members) and a low student-faculty ratio (8:1).
Vassar seeks to make a college education affordable and accessible to all admitted students. Through a generous financial aid program, Vassar meets 100% of the full demonstrated need of all admitted students, international or domestic, for all four years. Financial aid is awarded exclusively on the basis of need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the CSS Profile. For all U.S. Citizens and permanent residents who are applying for admission to the first-year class during early decision or regular decision, Vassar adheres to a need-blind policy, which means admission decisions for those candidates are made without regard to the student's financial situation.
Tours and information sessions are offered daily Monday through Friday year-round, and select Saturdays in the spring and fall. Details and pre-registration is available on our website.
